You don’t need an invitation to live your own Life.
When you read that first sentence were you surprised by it?
Or, did you go, ‘Well…Duh! I already knew that.’ Let me explain…
I caught wind of a new reality show, debuting on television. A group of contestants will compete until one lucky contestant is chosen to be the star of their own show.
The advert said:
‘It’s about making yourself memorable. It’s about hopes.
It’s about what can be. It’s about getting your own show.’
Then the ad promises, ‘Someone’s life is about to change.’
When I heard the commercial I shook my head and chuckled in disbelief over the premise they’re selling to the masses.
It’s all smoke and mirrors, and I’ll gladly explain why…
Every one of us is already the star of our very own show! Whoo, whoo, whoo!
You don’t need the frame work of a reality show to make your life real.
What could be more real than your Life?
I mean, it can’t get any more genuine than that. Can it?
You don’t need a screenwriter to help you, because…
Every day, you’re writing your own script.
You certainly don’t need a director to be the artistic mind, visualizing every scene for you, because…
You’re the director, using your imagination to visualize how you want the scenes to play out; directing your Life, and moving it forward.
The second issue I have with their reality show premise is this:
The truth of the matter is everyone’s Life is always about to change.
When you think about your Life, will you choose to be in the driver’s seat, or will you be a cork, bobbing along in the water, with no direction?
You and you alone have the power to turn your dreams into your reality.
The choice is yours.
I’ve been there.
I spent years living my life as an aimless cork, getting battered by the waves of life.
Then, I found the confidence to choose and I learned how to become my own screen writer and director.
I’m here to help you. I can be your guide.
And, lucky for you, there’s no invitation required.
